Jim CBought My 2002 Inca Gold Prowler 7/5/03from a dealer in Riverside Ca, (used). After having the car for 8 months I ran a car fax and found out the car was listed as a manufacture vehicle prior to being sold at auction and first titled in Indiana, then in the same month re titled to a dealer in Longbeach, Ca, then sold to Me.The Vin # is V100002 the Tub # if this is as mentioned by C note is #9913? by the way this was hand printed with an ink pen on a tag on the drivers side behind the hood hinge, as He stated.the scarry part is, when I got the car they gave me the paper back owners manual only , and just a few months ago after some one on this sight had mentioned to look in the map pouch behind the passenger seat, I found a manual still wraped in plastic. when I took the plastic off and opened it every thing was for a 2001 not 2002! this included the warranty cards? Now the question Do I have a pilot? and the most concerned question Do I have any factory Warranty?
thedqmanJim,
I think all the tub #s were written by hand on the tag.
With you vin # I would say it is very possible it is a pilot , probably to test the new color.
Look on the door tag and it will tell you the Month day and Hour of Build.
It is probable you have 2001 literature because it is so early.
Warranty starts at "IN SERVICE DATE"
You can find out the in service date by calling the dealer.
I personally know of one car that has an in service date of a year and a half after it was built, so dont fret.

Welcome to a great group of Prowler folk !

If I'm looking at it right, mine isn't hand written in ink. It's printed out on a sticker.
thedqman I dive,
At PTS we did a little informal search, and all the tub stickers we looked at had 4 #s hanwritten over the printed tag.
It was also noted that this # while having no correlation to the Vin, it seemed to go in sequence, by date and year of build.
Maybe we should do a thread about this , and find out the Tub # verses the Vin #?

Maybe the Tub #s were used strickly for the prowlers, and if that is so, we then would be able to tell where a car falls number wise in production. Seems to make sense because the tub #s look like they will end up around the 11,000 mark.

Maybe Mike or C J could tell us.

My car is # 7258 Year 2000 ( Maybe the 7258 Prowler built??)

idive000210 is my tub number and my build number is #156. I just took pics of the tag, and of the letter I have confirming build number, but can't get my pics to load off the camera. The damn thing has been screwed up ever since the Texas event. I lost ALL digital pics from Texas, and now I can't get the latest pics to download. And I got the camera just a few days before the Texas event.
I have located build #158, and #157 was on ebay about a month ago. I emailed the seller to have buyer contact me after purchase, but it didn't sell, and I never heard from seller.

Jim Cthedqman The Manufacture Date was 05/01
thedqmanJim,
Go to the owners registry, on the Home page, and run all our owners by Vin.
You will see you car fits in nicely in the whole sequence of build #s.
Only my opinion, but it looks like your car is one of the Gold pilot cars.
As far as the warranty, again you have to find out from the dealer when Chrysler has the in service date as the warranty start. This is usually way different than the manufacture date.

CJOnce, when I was visiting the plant, they had the first of the Candy Red tubs stacked up. I told one of the workers that I was having a Candy Red built and how would I know which tub was mine? I was told that the tubs were randomly picked when each car was built and there was no correlation between the tub numbers and the VIN/VON numbers.
